The Community Council has received a request from Regeneration Services to identify possible sites in our area for investment in open space, or children’s play

 

Do you know of any potential sites (even if you are not sure if they are Council owned) no matter how small – which could be improved or converted for open space, improved amenity, sports or children’s play ?

 

Another possibility is the idea now common in Holland – to convert parts of streets to pedestrian priority.  Cars wouldn’t be banned altogether but paving etc would reduce traffic flow and give over the street more to greenery, maybe some seats and safer play areas.  They are called “Home Zones” – more info can be found by searching ‘home zones’ on the internet.
